Poco pad 5G Game Test & Performance Review

Poco recently launched its first pad first tablet, Poco Pad 5G (Specs) in India on 23 August 2024. It has a 12.1-inch LCD screen with Gorilla Glass protection and Dolby Atmos support. The Poco Pad 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and 10,000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging support. But this Poco pad delivered good gaming performance?

In this post, I will cover the Poco Pad 5G game test performance in real life. I tested games like BGMI, Free Fire, and Call of Duty.

Gaming Performance Test Requirements

Poco Pad 5G Display and Design

• Display:- Poco Pad 5G has average visual quality a 12.1-inch punch hole LCD 8-bit display with 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 3 Protection.
• Resolution:- This phone offers a 2560 x 1600 pixel density resolution with 249 PPI and 500nits peak brightness giving average outdoor visual quality.
• Gameplay time I do not feel any touch response issues and 60fps BGMI delivered average performance.

Overall, the Poco Pad 5G offers a stylish design and average display that is perfect for everyday use not for good gaming

Poco Pad 5G Processor and GPU

• Poco Pad 5G has a budget series snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and Adreno 710 GPU for normal day-to-day work, not for heavy gaming.
• Poco Pad 5G does not support 90fps gameplay but you can game and BGMI up to 60fps gameplay.

Poco Pad 5G focuses on daily normal use, not gaming and multitasking.

Poco Pad 5G RAM and Storage

• RAM:- Poco Pad 5G has high-quality 8GB LPDDR4X RAM is good for day-to-day casual BGMI gaming. This RAM consumes less battery energy and more power-saving capability.
• Storage:- Poco Pad 5G has 256GB UFS-2.2 storage but this price is not good. At this price, UFS-3.1 is easily available. UFS-3.1 supports fast file transfer, copy-pasting, and data consumption. When you transfer files from one device to another device its speed is high.

Overall, Poco Pad 5G uses high-quality LPDDR4X RAM but the UFS-2.2 storage type is not expected in this 23,999 price in India.

Poco Pad 5G AnTuTu GeekBench Score

in the benchmark test, the Poco Pad 5G does not deliver excellent performance. The GeekBench Single core score is 1035, the Multi-core score is 2978and the CPU Throttled test is a good score of 76% this phone is not a heavy worm.

Poco Pad 5G BGMI supports 60fps but averages 35-40fps, Free Fire supports 60fps, and Call of Duty supports 60fps because it is not made for heavy gaming.

Poco Pad 5G BGMI Gameplay Test

• Poco Pad 5G one hour Smooth + ultra (60fps) setting TDM match gameplay delivered average performance and frame rate 51-54fps.
• During 1 hour of gameplay, I felt lag or heating issues and delivered an average performance.
• Second 30 minutes Highest setting HD + High classic match Erangle maps gameplay delivered lower performance.
• During 30 minutes Highest setting, gameplay delivered an average of 35-48fps phone lag, and No heating issues were noticed.

Overall, Poco Pad 5G is not made for gaming but BGMI’s lowest setting gives an average performance, and one hour of BGMI gameplay battery drains 24%.  I notice lag and heating issues during gameplay time.

 Fire and Call of Duty Gaming Test

• Free Fire: Poco Pad 5G free fire supports 60fps and provides an average gaming experience. consistently maintained a 54-57fps frame rate, without lag.

• Call of Duty: Poco Pad 5G Call of Duty supports 60fps and delivers a lower gaming experience.
• one-hour gameplay time high of 45 fps and a minimum of 37 fps. I noticed Throttle issues during gameplay time.

Overall, this real-world BGMI, Call of Duty, and Free mobile test performance is average. This phone is designed for casual work not for gaming and multitasking.

Poco Pad 5G Battery and Charging Test

• Battery:- 10,000mAh
• Charger:- 33W fast charging

Battery performance has a major role for every gamer. Poco Pad 5G comes with a 10,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging available in the box.

Poco Pad 5G One-hour gameplay battery drains 24%, you can non-stop play games and heavily multitask for up to 4 hours easily backup. For normal day-to-day life use like social media and web browsing it can at least one day’s backup easily.

The 20 Fast charging takes 0-100% charge in 1 Hour 30 Minutes. So, the Poco Pad 5G has an average battery for casual gaming.

Poco Pad 5G Pros and Cons

Positivity: Pros

• Poco Pad 5G comes with a 12.1 LCD screen and 120Hz refresh rate.
• This phone has a 240Hz touch sampling rate that smoothly works for gaming
• It has LPDDR4X RAM and type for fast gaming and multitasking
• Moto G45 5G has 10,000mAh battery Support.
• This phone’s CPU throttled test is Good

Negativity: Cons

• Poco Pad 5G has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor not for heavy gaming
• This Poco Pad 5G has a lot of pre-installed apps and a UFS-2.2 Storage Type.
• Poco Pad 5G has One Year Andriod Update

Final Verdict

If you found a value for money Tablet this Poco Pad 5G is not for you. If you afford 35,000 My suggestion is the OnePlus Pad 2 it has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and more AI features.
